What an interesting read! I like that Lauren Kate seems to take the "typical" vampire storyline and uses angles as the main characters...how interesting! Common Sense media says that there are lots of plot twists, keeping readers...reading! (https://www.commonsensemedia.org/book-reviews/fallen). I like that there was a movie release [Sept. 2017- in the U.S.] based on the book as well. I think movie/ book combinations are great for teens to see their book in action and to compare the two. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThis is the first book in the series. I also think that it is a typical YA supernatural romance. For me there was nothing that would make it unique, unless you'd call a reformatory school setting unique. In some places it reminded me of the Twilight series.
ReplyDeleteI read this book in 2010 when it was first published and I remember loving it as a young adult reader. This was during the Twilight/Supernatural phase where all supernatural books were very popular. Evernight by Claudia Gray is also a great read!
ReplyDeleteGreat annotation! This is a series I see all the time but have not read. Full points!
ReplyDeleteThis has a supernatural vibe that is really interesting. I haven't read YA since high school when Twilight first came out, so I'm kind of interested in something similar.
